Coach John "JT" Torres
Coach John Torres has coached football at the youth level for 27 years. He has coached teams in Las Vegas, NV., Scottsdale, AZ. Washington DC, Northern California and Southern California. In 2003 Coach Torres earned "Coach of the Year" honors while coaching in Lathrop, California. In 2005 he was added to the football "Wall of Fame" by the youth football website, Football Nation.
In 2006 Coach Torres helped form a new youth football organization in Southern California, the Santa Clarita Wildcats. His teams reached the Gold Coast Youth Football League Super Bowls in 2007 and 2008. He was an assistant Wildcat coach in 2009 and that team played in the Super Bowl as well. In 2010 Coach Torres helped form a new lacrosse club in Santa Clarita. That lacrosse team, in its first year, reached the semi-finals and lost to the eventual league champion.
Coach Torres has taught at football clinics in Texas, Arizona and California. Most recently he has taught the class "Progressive Coaching" to coaches attending the National Single Wing Symposium in Ontario,CA. In 2010 Coach Torres taught at the Frank Glazier football clinics in Las Vegas, Nevada. Coach Torres is scheduled to speak at the 2011 Glazier Clinics in Reno and Phoenix.
In 2010 Coach Torres began coaching high school football at West Ranch High School under Head Coach Jan Miller. Coach Torres coaches Wide Recievers and Special Teams for the Freshman squad.
Coach Torres has a Bachelor's degree and a Masters degree from California State University Sacramento and is a 27 year law enforcement veteran. John and his wife, Lori, have two sons, Zack and J.K.
